Welcome to the 4th edition of the Helmissimo
At the end of the winter season on the skiing mountain Monte Elmo in Alta Pusteria takes place the 4th edition of the Helmissimo, the longest giant slalom of the Val Pusteria!
The Helmissimo has a length of 4.5 km and a vertical drop of 905 m. Start is the top station of the Monte Elmo and the participants have to overcome 91 gates before they overcross the finish line in Versciaco.
The award ceremony will take place at 2 o clock pm in the finish area. Do not miss this fantastic sport event on the 26th March 2011!

Until 27th March 2011 our guests can explore and enjoy the magical world of Alta Pusteria / Hochpustertal during winter walks.
The snowshoe hikes to Prato Piazza with a wonderful view to the Three Peaks take place every Tuesday from 9 am till 3 pm. Expert mountain guides from the Alpina Pustertal School will show the best ways and panoramic views.
These excursions are free for the guests at the Hotel Leitlhof, the snowshoe rental fee is 4.00 €.

Full moon sledging on the Mount Baranci
People, who decide to pass their winter holidays in San Candido / Innichen, will have tobogganing fun on Mount Baranci / Haunold whole the day: the chairlift will be open every Friday from 8 pm to 10 pm.
The full moon sledging on the Mount Baranci is a well-liked event and renders possible to live a lot of moments in the middle of the nature: skiing during the day, while tobogganing in the evening. Furthermore the new Baranci/Haunold mountain refuge invites everybody to make a rest and to enjoy the typical kitchen of the region.

1,300 km of cross country ski trails trails open just in December, and the same toll of daily, weekly and seasonal tickets in the whole area of Dolomiti Nordicski, at which also the Alta Pusteria Valley belongs.

From July 15 until the end of August 2010 every Thursday with start at 5 o’clock pm San Candido offers delicious gastronomic specialties with live music in the pedestrian area. You can also go shopping under the stars, because shops and stores will be open between 8.30 and 10.30 pm. This event will take place a few steps from the Panorama Hotel Leitlhof in San Candido.

Early summer is an ideal time for hiking in the Dolomites of the Alta Pusteria Valley, UNESCO Natural World Heritage. Here, in this wonderful landscape, you can choose between romantic mountain lakes, high alpine tours, round tours and easy walks in the valley. Our walking tip: the round-excursion from San Candido to the Baranci hut and from there to the Thermal Source and return to San Candido. In 1 hour you arrive from the sports center Erschbaum to the Baranci hut at 1,499 meters. If you want you can also take the chairlift. At the mountain station you take path no. 7 down to Prati Ferrara meadow and you arrive back to the village of San Candido via the thermal sources. For all the round tour you need about 3 hours, if you take the chairlift about 2 hours.
