When he talks about sustainable mobility, Dietmar Walder often uses one word: enthusiasm. His sentences frequently contain terms such as “connect” and “combine”. Here you can read what Dietmar Walder, Marketing Manager of the Leitlhof, means when he talks about mobility and how the 4-Star Superior Hotel at San Candido already satisfies the requirements for the mobility of tomorrow.

“Networking” is the order of the day to be ready to face the challenges of environmentally sustainable mobility. The Leitlhof, as the second climate-neutral hotel in South Tyrol, in collaboration with the holiday region of Upper Val Pusteria and the ski district of the Sesto Dolomites, is therefore following new paths in mobility: the 2014/2015 winter season in Upper Val Pusteria and in the Sesto Dolomites is marked by the combining of the ski areas of Monte Elmo and Croda Rossa. This union, with the new ski runs and the two new cable cars “Three Peaks of Lavaredo” and “Orto del Toro”, enables skiers to enjoy themselves to the full on the runs between San Candido, Versciaco, Sesto and on the Pass of Monte Croce as far as Padola.
From the train directly to the ski runs
The union of the ski areas is integrated with a new service building and a new railway station at Versciaco. This allows direct access from the train to the ski runs. For guests at the Leitlhof, this means they can leave their car in our underground garage and make use of our free shuttle, which takes them directly to the runs or even to the railway station, then comes back to collect them.
SkiMobileDolomites Card – free travel on regional buses and trains for the whole winter season in South Tyrol
Thanks to the SkiMobileDolomites Card, our guests can get about free of charge in the Sesto Dolomites and in the whole of South Tyrol on public transport. By bus or train: you can comfortably and easily reach the ski runs and centres of the various resorts.
The pleasure of skiing on 200 kilometres of runs!
The Val Pusteria Ski Express links the Sesto Dolomites to Plan de Corones. The two ski areas in Val Pusteria, “Plan de Corones” and “Sesto Dolomites” are now even closer to each other thanks to the building of the railway station at Versciaco and they are linked to form a single extensive ski area. As from December 2014, the Val Pusteria Ski Express train passes every half hour between the two ski resorts. Skiers can thus explore more than 200 kilometres of runs. You can move conveniently from the bottom station of Monte Elmo to the entrance of the Sesto Dolomites, to the bottom station of Ried at Plan de Corones and vice versa. You can forget the bother of taking off your boots, laborious driving and the stressful search for a place to park the car. You can spend the morning in the Sesto Dolomites and the afternoon at Plan de Corones. Your shuttle will come and pick you up at the railway station in San Candido.
