Fun Bob

Even in summer the Mount Baranci in San Candido is a nice destination for excursions. The summer toboggan run Fun Bob attracts many families with kids to get off on the 1.7 km long track.

Acquafun

San Candido for all lovers of swimming and water has a really special indoor pool. Right in the center of the village this water park promises an adventure for the whole family.

It consists of a large swimming pool with a water fountain, giant slide, a small mountain stream, a pool for the kids and a large meadow for sunbathing. While children play in the pool, adults can relax in the sauna or the oasis of beauty. At the restaurant you can enjoy a delicious pizza or a speciality of South Tyrol.

In addition, the water park in San Candido also offers swimming lessons for beginners and advanced.

Helmissimo

Shortly before the season ends, on the ski mountain Helm in Hochpustertal takes place a really exciting race. On 24th March 2012 is in program the 5th edition of the Helmissimo, longest giant slalom of the Pustertal.

The starting point is located at 2.030 meters. In total an altitude of 905 meters, a track length of 4,5 kilometers and 97 gates must be mastered. Beginning ist at 9.00 clock.

Winter hiking Dolomites

In winter, when the popular holiday region Hochpustertal is shrouded in a thick blanket of snow, the snow-covered fields and meadows sparkle in the sun and many forest animals are hibernating, there is nothing better than to explore the calm and tranquility of nature.

The Panorama Hotel Leitlhof in San Candido until 18th March 2012 offers guided winter hiking tours. So, is held every Tuesday a hike on snowshoes to Prato Piazza with breathtaking view to the famous Three Peaks, every Thursday is the snowshoe excursion for the discovery of nature on the program.

Also offered are the ciaspolata from valley to valley and in the light of the full moon. Here you will find more information about registration. For guests of the hotel walking tours are free!

Dolomites Snow Festival

Only barbed wire, saws and shovels are the tools that the participants in the 22nd International Festival of Snow Sculpture can use.

And the results are fantastic works of art made of frozen snow. Thirty artists from around the world are participating at this special event in San Candido from 11th to 13th and in San Vigilio di Marebbe from 16th to 18th January 2012.

Come to South Tyrol to spend a romantic holiday and enjoy these great snow sculptures that are illuminated at night especially!

Christmas bakery

The air smells of cinnamon and tea and the people of South Tyrol love prepare Christmas cookies.

We reveal a delicious recipe to make at home:

Coconut kisses (50 pieces)
(taken from the book “Dolci Dolomiti”)

Ingredients:
4 egg whites
200 g of powdered sugar
1 sachet of vanilla sugar
1 pinch of salt
200 g of flaked coconut
50 wafer

Preparation:
Whisk the egg whites with the salt, the powdered and the vanilla sugar. Stir in the coconut flakes. With a spoon form small mounds and place on waffles. Bake in oven at 120 degrees for 40 minutes.

But even those who love sledding are invited to come. The 3 km long toboggan run in Innichen was equipped with a new lighting system. For night owls, the new Giant Baranci Refuge opens its doors.
