Around the 6th December in Alta Pusteria there waits a old tradition, especially for children: Santa Claus goes through the roads of the villages and he will be in company of the “Krampus” who will frightening children and adults with rusty chains and bells. The costume of the Krampus consists of red wooden masks, black sheeps’s skin and horns. In Dobbiaco, there is in program, on the 7th December 2009 at 5 p.m.., one of the biggest processions with about 200 Krampus. Also a great event is hold in Sesto, on the 4th of December. Santa Claus, on 6th December 2009 visit also San Candido, and on the 5th December he will be in Villabassa and he gives little presents to the children. From 3rd December 2009 the Panorama Hotel Leitlhof will again be open and so you have a good starting point to visit one or more of those traditional events.

Dolomites: World Heritage Site
Now, in autumn, the days get shorter, the foliages changes the color, the sun does not gleam anymore so hot from the heaven. An ideal season to make some excursion in the Dolomits, World Heritage Site since the end of June 2009. Now, it is also accurately defined: the foundation, which, by order of the UNESCO, has to administrate and to protect the World Heritage Site of the Dolomites, will be based in every of the five regions. Always after three years the presidency will rotate between Bolzano, Belluno, Udine, Trieste and Pordenone. Our hotel, the Panorama Hotel Leilhof, open from the 3rd December 2009 and we are very glad to welcome you in this marvelous landscape of the Dolomites.
